Celebrate Summer!

It is truly buzzing at The Hive... we are booking faster and fuller this year!

We meet very interesting people from all over Canada and the world. Already we have welcomed many participating in activities, retreats and neighbouring events including the popular Spartan Race and a re-enactment of the Trillium Wars set in the Renaissance period.

On Saturday July 15th, Owners/Directors, Kevin and Elsii, will be co-hosting an experiential interactive retreat designed to help you relax, reflect and create. Join us and discover the artist within!

Activities Abound!
The past month has been filled with exciting activities and adventures... and many challenges too.

We were so busy that we mistakenly double booked a couple of rooms at The Hive Bed & Breakfast. Not wanting to disappoint our guests (a couple of women were driving from Rochester, New York), we decided to open the doors of The Hive Centre. We prepared the rooms and enjoyed an amazing evening! In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we intend to include this option as part of our offerings in 2018. Interested in staying in a 19th century church? Let us know.

We have also enjoyed local tours and tastings - adding two more local all-natural vendors to The Hive's retail space - Sweet Dream Food Products and Neale's Sweet n Nice Ice Cream.

Take a look at some of our adventures below.
A group of 18 men from a church group came to eat and pray for love in the world.
Owner/Director, Kevin Craddock, lead the first Frequency Meditation of the year.
Bear Standing Tall leads a 4-Day Indigenous Cultural Sensitivity Training Retreat.
Retreat participants were grateful to participate in Bullfrog Power's launch of the Downie Wenjack Fund Legacy Room. Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund Ambassador, Bear Standing Tall lead an Indigenous Ceremony to inaugurate the event (pictured with BF Execs and Mike Downie).
In late June, energetic Spartan Racers filled The Hive Bed & Breakfast  to participate in a 4000-person obstacle race event at Brimacombe.
A lucky few were able to stay in The Hive Centre in June - a 19th Century Church
Virgin Hill Coffee from Quebec stayed with us and left some yummy samples!
The Hive Centre was honoured to host a sacred Indigenous Inipi Ceremony with Bear Standing Tall and Red Medicine Woman.
We enjoyed a trip to Dare 2 Dream Farm where we were able to view bees through a unique viewing area and sample delicious Sweet Dream Food including honey and maple products.
Coming to The Hive - Sweet Dream Food Products from Dare 2 Dream Farm and Neale's Sweet n Nice Ice Cream - local, artisan and all natural!
Our Bee & Bee Guests participated in a re-enactment of the Trillium Wars.
A trip to local Tree Farm - H. Richardson Farms for Apple Crisp and Apricot Trees.
Frequency Meditation with Kevin Craddock

Positively affect your well-being and start the weekend with a Frequency Meditation.

Join musician and producer, Kevin Craddock every third Saturday at 10am (until November). On July 15, make it a full day or overnight and participate in an experiential interactive retreat - Naturally Gifted.

Naturally Gifted - Day or Overnight Retreat

Interested in the Naturally Gifted Retreat? Create a mandala with materials from nature. Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing infinity and are often used as meditative tool to help gain knowledge from within. Set an intention, relax and allow yourself to be guided.

Re-Discover the calming, rejuvenating and stimulating power of creativity.

During the Naturally Gifted retreat, you will experience a Frequency Meditation, enjoy a nutritious and delicious lunch, immerse yourself in Forest Bathing (shinrin-Yoku), produce an art work during the Naturally Gifted Hands-on Creative Workshop and participate in a closing Fire Ceremony. Join us!

Gifts from Nature - a Blog by Elsii Faria

"If you visit The Hive Centre and Bee & Bee, you will find baskets and vessels full of leaves, pine cones, cedar buds, flowers, bark… When we bought the house, I became enamoured with collecting natural materials – some of it was so precious, I knew I wanted to do something special with it."
